WELCOME to our unique one of a kind vacation rental home nestled on the shores of Lake Shafer in Monticello Indiana. It is located just minutes from the world famous Indiana Beach Amusement Park. Indiana Beach is a great family fun filled amusement park. Our parents took us there 30 years ago and now we take our kids there. There are lots of rides for toddlers, a special area filled with kiddie rides. Indiana Beach also has lots of adult sized rides: roller coasters, tilt a whirl, bumper cars, water skiing and diving shows, haunted house, carnival games that you are able to win, and lots of good food, kids love the corn dogs. Also, there is a country club nearby called Tippecanoe where you can play a nice 18 hole course on the lake and get in a nice dinner with the family, we go on Fridays for the seafood buffet AAA+. There is also an old fashioned drive in movie called lake shore drive in 2 screens and the kids love to go, there's always a double feature ( hint: usually the kids fall asleep after the first show,date night time).
Our home has that warm cottage feel and is extremely kid friendly, being that we have 4 of our own to chase around, we know what mom needs for the kids. Sippies we got em, high chair, got it, gates, pack en play crib,toys,books,movies, got them all. Yes the crib is nice and sturdy. Don't worry we also have the ultimate swing set. Dad designed and tested. Solid construction 7 x 10 ft sand box 2 yards of sand, swings, slide, tower , plastic rock wall, and 2 spring riders. Our kids love it and I know yours will.
We are also pet friendly. We own 2 akc olde English sheepdogs (yes like the shaggy D A).
We have a large dog run on the side fenced in. We also have dog bowls if your dogs don't mind sharing. ( you scoop the poop) There is a $20/nt fee or $100/wk fee. Dogs only. Fido must be gated on the tile area we provide the gates. Make sure to get your dog a good flea & tick collar or topical, there are ticks and dogs know how to find them. Dog owners assume all liability for their dogs actions. No dogs on furniture or carpet.
We do a little golfing when we get a chance to. There are several nice courses in the area, not pga but nice. I will leave a set of right handed clubs for you to use.
TANDEM BIKE : we will also make available a nice tandem bike in case you want to take it for a ride.
We have 2 piers for fishing, swimming and boating. We have plenty of parking for a boat trailer and cars. We park a 17 ft trailer and 4 cars easily, don't worry it's a big space. We also have a great bench swing suspended between 2 - 100 ft tall oaks, great view of the lake. This is a great fishing lake, blue gill, crappie, sun fish, catfish, bass. We will also leave extra life vests from infant to adult, they are in good shape and quite cute.
